We have arrived at Kingdom Gaming, our final destination

If you haven't checked out my previous posts about coming up to Kingdom Gaming in Northampton, don't forget to see why I'm here! Had a really fun night tonight at Kingdom Gaming (KG). There were 4 people, including myself, not drafting Farewell to WTR, so we had a round-robin of Blitz!

KG is planning to do some online Armouries as well, starting next week on Tuesdays. I am hoping to be in regular attendance as it is one of the days I'm actually free, but no stores in London are running Armouries for Tuesdays yet.

The Journey

From the hotel I'm staying at, The Langham, it was just a 5 minute walk down the road to KG. The most difficult part is actually recognising the building.

Once you turn down Freehold street and walk up a little bit, there is a big car park. The building on the far side is where KG is, I circled the entrance in red below.

The building also have a sign for 'Better Bodies Gym', you could look out for that in the meantime if you're travelling to KG to play. Hopefully, Adam from KG can get a big sign in soon!

The Store

KG is a store that really flexes Flesh and Blood.

All the Flesh and Blood merchandise really bolster the atmosphere of the store.

The till is at one corner of the shop, whilst the rest of the space is just populated with tables to play TCG.

KG sells lots of TCG accessories, as well as booster boxes and cases of FaB and other TCGs. It also sells some Warhammer and a huge variety of board games.

Gamegenic TCG accessories, some of the best stuff

KG also sells some hot and cold drinks at an affordable price! I'll be sipping quite a few cuppa tomorrow.

The Blitz Event

There hasn't been much change with my Oldhim deck. I have acquired Crown of Seeds since the Skirmish. But, other than that, I'm still running weird stuff like Awakening and red Chill to the Bone. I really like where my deck is right now, it makes the games I play more fun, both for me and my opponent, as I can switch things up by playing more aggressively as well.

My first game was against Go Again Gaming's Aaron Francis , an amazing FaB content creator from the UK! I'm a big fan of Aaron's Lets Visit Series, it focuses on the community side of Flesh and Blood, which I find really admirable. I find it a kindred spirit to my own The next stop is series as well, which is like Lets Visit, but for London game stores.

Aaron was playing Azalea tonight. Whilst I have some experience playing against Lexi, I have not played against Azalea before. But, in preparation for KGI, I did practise playing some Azalea to figure out how she worked. And, with Crown of Seeds in tow, I was now able to block more effectively. I did get fairly lucky as my first few turns did draw me my big hitters like Endless Winter and Oaken Old. I also played Channel Lake Frigid and managed to keep it for at least 2 turns as well. The game did end in a win for me. Aaron was a really good sport and I enjoyed playing against him. Go Again Gaming does have its own Discord channel as well, where the community set up regular online games. I hope to be able to participate in some of these in the future!

My second game was against James Adams' Levia deck. Once again, never played against Levia before. But, I did do some practise in preparation. I feel like Brute is a matchup I really need to get more practise for. In this game, I did the thing where I purposefully take a load of damage to pop an Awakening, just because I had Pulse of Isenloft in hand. It was a really good turn. But, it eventually put me in a position that I forgot was bad when playing against Brute, having 2 life. This is because of Reckless Swing.

Reckless Swing

I really need to remember this card exist 😂 .

To be fair, I didn't even lose this match because of Reckless Swing, just a good Intimdation and I wasn't able to defend at all. I really don't play Oldhim well against Brute 😂. Regardless, I very much enjoyed the match, and James also did as well.

My third match was against George Needham's Benji deck. All new heroes tonight as I've never played Benji either. Benji's ability is rather interesting, it forces me to not block from hand at all if an Attack Action has base power of 2 or less. Whilst it's not a massive issue because I have Rampart and Crown, the thing is that I can only use these equipments once per defending turn. Being unfamiliar with the ability, I would sometimes block the first and second Attack Action with Crown and Rampart because I thought I can't defend from hand. But, the third Attack Action is the one I really want to block because of Mask of Momentum. It was a very close match, George got me down to 1 health. But, I took that damage deliberately as I had an Oaken Old from Arsenal I could play with Dominate. Benji was on 5 health, so the Oaken Old did win me my last game as there were no equipments left on Benji.

Tomorrow

Really late post. But, I couldn't not write it. Really looking forward to tomorrow. Remember to tune in to Kingdom Gaming's stream on Twitch and see if you can spot me in my cherry blossom pattern Haori! It looks to be a really awesome day. See you then!
