Year End 2022
Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Year End 2022

Merry Christmas folks! A very late cheer from me as its been extremly busy coming towards the end of the year.

But, its been a big year for the Armoury Line in Flesh and Blood, so I wouldn't miss a chance to do a yearly review!

Looking Back

This has been the first full year for me in Flesh and Blood and its probably one of the most wholesome and exciting time of my life!

Kingdom Gaming Invitational

We kicked 2022 off with a fairly high profile UK event known as the Kingdom Gaming Invitational. I did quite a few posts on the event, everything from travelling to the event to the actual event itself. It was a weekend jam-packed with Flesh and Blood and an amazing experience!

It was also at this event that I pulled my first Fable! A Library at the time when it was all the rave.

Great Library of Solana pull!

All the LGS coverage

By the end of 2022, I had managed finish my 'The next stop is' series of articles on LGS' in the London area!

All 5 of them in one city! London definitely has a very active Flesh and Blood scene and will continue to be so into 2023.

Competitive Events: Pro Quest, Skirmish, and Nationals!

2022 was also the year I went all in on being a competitive Flesh and Blood player.

I started off with a couple of Pro Quests, my very first competitive FaB events. I learnt a lot from the experience and it made me feel very comfortable playing at the competitive level. Nothing too impressive at this point but I'm only getting started.

My Skirmishes in the middle of the year saw a little more success. Learning from my Pro Quest experience, I brewed quite an interesting Oldhim deck. I practised quite a good amount for the season and ended up attending 4 different events, and I did manage to top 4 in the Skirmish at Dice and Destiny! Feeling pretty proud of myself 😤.

I made a lot of friends on my journey, like a real anime character. So, when the Road to Nationals season was announced in the later half of the year, we all came together to help each other qualify for THE competitive event of the year! Myself and a few others from the playgroup would grind for xp to qualify, going to multiple armouries a week and even doing some online Armouries late at night. It was crazy, but it was very fun to have a sense of comradery amongst the group as we aimed for the same goal and supported each other along the way. It really bonded the playgroup and that was probably one of the most valueable experiences of my life.

Ultimately, I did qualify for Nationals! The event itself was the usual fun and well organised. But, it was the journey there that I continue to value the most. Props to the squad.

Some of us had team uniforms

The Armoury Line also had the honour to host the National Championship Londoner's Guide ths year, written by Matthew Tuck. Most likely to still be very useful if you want to come down to London and do an Armoury Crawl!

Community contributions

To top it all off, I made some contributions to the Flesh and Blood community that I'm quite proud off this year.

I managed to get my LGS, Troll Trader, into the game. Going from no games happening at all in the Bromley area to consistently firing Armouries every Thursday. It was definitely a lot of work, but its well worth it to have a budding community south east of London.

I also started a project that hopefully will take off in the future, Sultania. Sultania is a discord bot for all your Flesh and Blood needs, from fetching cards to grabbing your ranking. Its still a work-in-progress. But, already its been very useful to some servers. If you haven't add Sultania to your server yet, make sure to check it out!

Looking Forward

And that's all folks! I hope you had a great year in Flesh and Blood.

2023 will be an exciting year still, as we get new sets and maybe even the rumoured PvE game mode?

I did go a bit quiet towards the end of the year. But, I'm hoping to come back with a bang next year with even more wholesome content about the London FaB scene. I will also be working on Sultania a lot more, so if you don't see much update on the blog, be sure to see what cool things I'm doing with Sultania.

See you next year! Have a merry holiday and a fantastic New Year.
